KAJOTE General Superintendence Co. Ltd successfully carried out discharging supervision and draft survey inspection for MV. YOUNG GLORY, which called at Dar es Salaam Port (DP World – Temeke Terminal) to discharge granular sulphur in bulk.
This operation reflects KAJOTE’s continued role in delivering accurate, independent, and technically sound marine and cargo survey services for bulk commodities handled at Tanzania’s key ports.
Bulk Granular Sulphur Handling – Cargo Condition Monitoring

Granular sulphur cargo observed in vessel hold during discharge operations at Dar es Salaam Port.
Upon vessel arrival and opening of cargo holds, KAJOTE surveyors conducted a visual condition assessment of the granular sulphur. The cargo was found to be in good order, with no visible signs of contamination or abnormal moisture. Continuous monitoring was maintained throughout the discharge process to ensure proper handling, minimise losses, and uphold environmental and safety standards.
Granular sulphur requires careful supervision due to its chemical nature and sensitivity during bulk handling. KAJOTE’s presence ensured compliance with industry best practices and terminal operating procedures.

Our qualified marine surveyors remained onboard during critical stages of the operation, coordinating closely with ship officers, stevedores, and terminal representatives. Draft surveys were conducted at appropriate stages to accurately determine the quantity of cargo discharged.
Draft readings, ballast conditions, vessel stability, and hydrostatic data were carefully verified to ensure precise cargo quantity determination and transparent reporting for all stakeholders.
Shore Operations & Cargo Discharge Oversight

Shore-side discharge operations at DP World Dar es Salaam Terminal under KAJOTE supervision.
KAJOTE also monitored shore-side discharge activities, ensuring smooth coordination between vessel cranes, grab operations, and receiving transport units. Attention was given to housekeeping, spillage control, and safe working practices, reinforcing operational efficiency and environmental responsibility.
