Fumigation

KAJOTE shall use phosphine-based tablets that are approved by the Tanzania Plant Health and Pesticides Authority (TPHPA). The dosage rate shall be 2grams/MT or as per manufacturers recommended dosage. The list of fumigants and their corresponding dosages shall be provided to client for approval before use.

The fumigation shall be carried out using the above dosage rates, as stipulated by. Consequently, the concentration of phosphine at 120 hours shall be expected to be above 150 ppm and hence conform to the criteria for a successful fumigation operation.

Methyl Bromide fumigation

Methyl bromide is most often used as a gas fumigant against insects, termites, rodents, weeds, nematodes, and soil-borne diseases. It is used to fumigate agricultural commodities, grain elevators, mills, ships, clothes, furniture and greenhouses.

Methyl Bromide fumigation

We offer phosphine gas fumigation – (Magnesium Phosphide and Aluminum Phosphide) a common fumigant that diffuses rapidly and penetrates deeply into materials fumigant used to control stored product insects. Besides treating infested grains, cereals and flours, it is also the preferred fumigant to eliminate insects that infest tobacco leaves in storage

Spraying

KAJOTE shall us actellic 50% EC whose active ingredient is chloropyrifos at the manufacturers recommended dosage of 0.2 mls /sq metre. As required, KAJOTE shall seek client approval before use.
Stores and warehouses where commodities are stored will be sprayed to prevent attacks on commodities by pests and this will be done using chemicals approved. Our company uses pest control products of good quality that have been approved by the Tanzania Plant Health and Pesticides Authority (TPHPA).

Safety Precaution

Safety is a prerequisite in fumigation. Trained and licensed fumigation personnel are the ONLY persons to be considered for the fumigation operations. It is the policy of Company to provide and ensure a safe working environment, safe working conditions and safe equipment coupled with training that will provide its employees with the knowledge and information necessary to safely carry out their assigned duties
Determination of the gas concentrations at the fumigation site is important to protect people in the surrounding areas. As reported above, monitoring of the gas concentration is equally important to verify if the required minimum concentration is obtained.

Following conditions are to be considered:
  1. The fumigated space is suitable for fumigation (gastight, in good condition, fumigation has to be accepted by owners and at the facility)

The entire cargo in has to be fumigated to avoid cross contamination
The "safety and ventilation instructions" given have to be followed in detail. The prescribed actions are to be reported. Our staffs are duly trained and licensed to execute the orders in accordance with local regulations and your requirements.
